Promoting innovation and aligning care in mitral valve disease

Launched in 2025, the PCR Mitral Focus Group is dedicated to making mitral valve disease easier to understand and manage. By uniting specialists across disciplines, it aims to clarify patient selection, support education, and bring consistency to both established and emerging therapies.
The Focus Group Directors are both focused on advancing structural heart interventions, with Philipp Lurz working as an Interventional Cardiologist, and Thomas Modine as a Cardiac and Interventional Surgeon.
They are joined by 42 experts, including Cardiologists, Cardiac surgeons, Imaging specialists, Heart failure specialists, Innovators and Strategists, all assigned to one of five working groups:
Learn the reasons behind these groups and how other multidisciplinary teams are working to build alignment in additional topics of uncertainty - such as tricuspid valve interventions and mechanical circulatory support.
